Disgusting unhygienic mess with absolutely nothing to eat not even tea or coffee and always filthy The current presidents (2023) are doing much better and the mess has improved
Good car parking usually spaces available
Worst IT systems of all time. None of the printers work to print bloods with no alternatives. Paper notes and drug charts. Written radiology requests and add-on blood forms
Haverfordwest has sparse public transport but there’s usually a room available in the doctors accommodation
Disgusting food needs so much salt to taste if anything and extremely expensive, nothing after 7.
Nothing to do except spoons, Cardiff is two hours away. Pembrokeshire has some stunning coastline and a coastal path walk.
Good department. Friendly team which is respectful of trainees. Office for doctors. Enough staff. Good senior support.
Chaotic, overcrowded department. Not enough HCAs and nurses to do basic jobs. Consultants and registrars often have to do bloods themselves. Not enough beds to see patients. The managers will absolutely punish you for whistleblowing, going as far as trying to end your career because you raised a complaint for bullying. There is next to no senior support most of the time, and even medical agendas are considered adequate staffing.
