Currently full by about 8:20. Extra parking off site about 5 mins walk where you can always get a space whatever time. Parking charges in place at approx £20pm and a waiting list for permits.
Paper notes, online prescribing. Poor quality referral systems with mix of paper and online.
Not great, nearest tram stop 15 mins walk. Fine in the day but not nice at night or in bad weather. No train station nearby.
Canteen reasonably cheap school dinner type stuff. M&S on site if you feel like remortgaging your house. Some of the dodgiest takeaways in the UK ordered by ward staff on nights, sample at your peril.

Little to no training. No support. Unfriendly atmosphere from mainly staff grade registrars. Management unapproachable and don't respond to emails on time.
AMU is dangerously unsafe. High number of poor quality “registrars” who hardly do any work. Turn up late and leave early without a proper hand over. Consultants are of variable quality. Some (small minority) are excellent at clinical decision making with reasonable plans. Most are incredibly poor quality and makes me question how they are able to ...More
The geriatric ward (F9) - one of the most toxic, racist and vindictive hellholes I have ever had the displeasure of stepping foot in. Bullying and harassment is rife - especially if you are black, brown or generally foreign. The “clinical” team including consultants, senior nurses, ward managers etc. are fake busybodies who do little to no real pa ...More
Really enjoyed my A+E F2 job, the department is lovely and the consultant body is super supportive, helpful and have great chat. Consultants make sure you get rhesus exposure if that's something you're interested in. Lots of opportunities for building clinical skills like suturing, ultrasound cannulas etc. The department is pretty well run as well ...More
Had the foundation track with ICU. Amazing and supportive department, they make sure you get really involved and learn a lot. Many opportunities for F1s to do clinical skills - I was doing central lines, arterial lines, and lumbar punctures with registrar / consultant supervision and support regularly which really helped build my confidence and got ...More
