* Review for Stroke department, not neurology Pros: - most consultants are friendly and approachable - shifts in the emergency stroke unit with SpRs are fantastic for learning, you'll get rota'd for a week at a time of purely ESU - night shifts are manageable in workload as only responsible for stroke patients Cons: - no lab on site so you'll wait >6 hrs+ for bloods, morning bloods often not back until the night shift - staffing while I was there was dire with an attitude from consultants that we should 'just get on with it' - poor facilities - no dedicated doctor's office or computers, no changing rooms/lockers, nowhere to sleep at night - non-neurological investigations (even CXR) can be battle to request
