All the doctors share a corridor on the first floor away from the wards. There are two staff kitchens with microwaves, kettles, one has a hob and a dishwasher if you really wanted to cook. Facilities are well kept. There is a shared canteen with the patients but it's not always open so not much in the way of food you can buy on site.
Free car park, never struggle for parking, no issues here
Uses RiO for patient notes, and can access the local hospital systems to check bloods/imaging etc. Southern Health trust has its own IT team which are fine and can usually sort things out in a week or so
There is a bus which stops in Knowle village, you then would have to walk to the unit. No train links nearby, it's pretty rural

Very rural area. Wickham village is nice, with pubs, farmers markets and an excellent curry house. Knowle village is smaller but has the basics. 20 minute drive from Fareham or Cosham, and you could get into Portsmouth in half an hour
Supportive seniors, you learn a lot and your safety is always protected. Interesting mix of patients. You really need your own car though. One of the best Southern Health placements
