It's overall OK for a training program, the Acute Oncology Unit runs well, and it's run by locum SHOs, they normally have done F2 in Oncology. They may call you for advice, but is pretty independent, the department is OK experience-wise, however; it's very endogamic and there is not much diversity. Started this month and quit due to nurses on ward 32 shocking
Oncology trainee. Friendly colleagues, always able to ask questions. Protected time for teaching and for admin. No resident night shifts on rota. 1 weekend in 13. Would recommend.
Department expects you to be totally invested in the job and presumes you have no life outside of work. Regularly get snarky comments about taking any annual leave. Not somewhere I would recommend for training, dated hospital and even at a registrar level, management and consultants treat you like dirt.
Charing Cross is incredible but otherwise would avoid
